I have always assumed Netanyahu would never stop his assault on Gaza until as late as possible- for many reasons. One is, perhaps , he wanted to damage Biden and help get Trump elected. Biden and Harris were naive to believe that appeasing Bibi had any value for themselves. They did not dare act to stop this campaign of murderous retribution. Maybe Bibi delayed negotiations partly to make nice with his old friend Trump after making the mistake of calling Biden to congratulate him after his win. Just another reason this has been going on more than a year in my opinion. It’s a gift to the emperor.
Thank you for your comments. Yes, we are facing an era of being led by a tyrant and his minions but I find comfort in reading yours and others' thoughts as we go through this. It is somehow comforting to know I am not alone in feeling appalled (I do work to balance those feelings with walks and getting together with friends and limiting my exposure to too much news - there's a point at which it is no longer helpful). Here's to keeping informed and ready to champion the good among us.
Rant away Martin! I share every one of your concerns, frustrations and anger over every single aspect of the incoming Trump presidency, his administration, cabinet nominees and Republican enablers.

I like rants that are in service of the country.
