I get the feeling that the real plan is to have Vance as President since Trump will fade and already has. He is much worse than Trump by his complete buying into Project 2025 and he is smart and more dangerous. Hopefully Trump's current problems will turn a few voters, but most of his base don't really care. A very sad situation.
I find it really sad that his family, the GOP, media and all the others that hitched their wagon to him are doing nothing about his decline. This is a terrible display of the decline of morality and values in our country where power is all that matters. As to why nothing is being done, the powers behind the campaign want JD Vance to take over for him after he is elected (he will lose). The can't put JD Vance first on the ticket because he is the most disliked, least qualified of any VP ever and would lose even worst than I believe Trump will.
Thank you, Martin, for writing this and doing so as frequently as you do. You and many other writers like you have helped me see so much about Trump and the sad puppet that he is.
Martin, you seem to have tapped into the dismay and confusion in my own mind, and you've put it down on the page clearly. Thank you for helping me to better understand my own exasperated heart. Every new revelation about Trump's rapid slide from mere immorality into sheer lunacy leaves me further frightened. Anyway... you're not alone. Please keep writing.
What I don't understand is how the repub party could choose him as their candidate when they knew his mental state & then Vance talks about invoking the 25th amendment if they win. Shouldn't there be a law against intentionally putting someone on the ballot who cannot do the job they are running for? It really takes the votes away from the people who want trump (& I am in NO way a trump supporter!) And will only get Vance. Just doesn't seem legal to me, but then the repubs make up the rules as they go.
I take no real joy watching him implode. My happiness is merely relief that the worse he gets, the better the chance for reason to win the day.
Please don't stop. You are a voice of reason in a sea of disinformation.

Blessings on you for statements of compassion and sanity. Please keep up the good work

He is a horrible reflection on the face of this nation.
