Thanks Martin. That's helpful because when I talk about my ideas, I can add more content as I go. So I'll try that approach

Martin, I always appreciate the tips for relatively new writers of content, like me. I've finally worked my way up to paid status on medium and follow Substack but haven't tried to publish there yet. My biggest issue is writing more that a paragraph or two. I find that is enough to complete the thought I'm writing about at the time. Any suggestions?

Karen, I’ve never had that issue! So I had to think about it. It’s possible your ideas need to be a little more complex so you can explore them further. A paragraph should only express one aspect of an idea or story. If you think of them as scenes like in a film then imagine the bigger story they are part of. And if those paragraphs address more than one action or idea, they probably need to get elaborated on. In my case it can get pretty stream of consciousness where I let each sentence lead into the next. It does take practice like anything else.

I had the first one on KDP a few years ago but there are too many terrible books on there. I’m going to try Gumroad and just target my readers here and on Medium. I’m using an app called Vellum to format so I can offer both ebooks and paperbacks. I’m just trying to find the time right now.

I think they take PayPal. Thanks for asking!

Please find a way to accept PayPal, and I will gladly support you! Another writer on SubStack that I follow makes a GoFundMe an option for contributing.

Thank you!
