A great number of the literati and other manufacturers of public opinion are busy spreading the lies, misinformation, and disinformation. And they are paid well for it.
To exacerbate matters some more, a significant segment of the public is eagerly looking for the reinforcement of the lies they prefer to believe in. It is a Sisyphean task to spread the truth.
