This piece really rang true for me. I find myself questioning everything I read now, wondering how much is actually true and how do I know that. I write about food and how it affects the mind and body and I've come across of lot of posts that are just half-truths.. When it comes to health information AI will likely kill a lot of people. I think moving forward will come down to finding authentic voice - like yours - and being able to have trusted sources. What else can we do?

" Politicians depend on fear of the different to divide and inflame people. " Trump does. Biden depends on molasses. But, sure there is the undercurrent. "When you look at the racks of new fiction in bookstores or libraries you see so much writing based on fear..." Just sort of there in the woodwork.

“Free speech” Musk. For banning books and being for free speech is a paradox, at best. They cannot go together. Musk is not for free speech but for free lying. There is a difference.

The culture war, “woke,” calling BLM a terrorist group, book banning, “us-and-them,” all based on fear. Why? Because fear works. Fear gets the votes.

Optimism? Looking at the wrong glass. The one that is half full, instead of the real one with almost no liquid left.

Buddhism, meditation, civility, and decency are all commendable and nice. But it is not the strategy for survival, much less a winning one.

Nice guys finish last, sans the double entendre.
