Biden sees the light
A quick note about the breaking news
The whole ballgame just changed
It’s on Kamala now
We got the news this afternoon that President Biden is dropping out of the race and endorsing the Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him. He did the right thing in my estimation. The Democratic Party has been entirely focused on this move rather than going after Trump and the maniacs behind him.
Now they can choose to regain that focus. I say can because the choice of Harris is not a done deal, though it looks like the party will back her. There are just too many advantages to it. She can takeover the campaign war chest legally because it was raised for both the President and her campaign.
Black leaders in the Party, particularly black women, have laid down the law: take her off the ballot and lose the black women vote, a critical voting block for Dems. And she has a campaign operation in place though I believe she must replace the campaign manager who has naively been messing things up in the turmoil over Biden’s choice.
Yesterday that campaign manager arranged a meeting with hundreds of Democrat donors and Vice President Harris and by all reports it was botched on an organizational level, asking these critical supporters to wait twenty minutes while excoriating them to support Biden.
The reception was not good, though fortunately the ire was not aimed at Harris. However, the general response was disgust at being treated as morons. For this alone, the campaign manager must go. Money is the fuel in campaigns, like it or not.
After the past few weeks the chance to reset was needed, but we only get one. There will be plenty more to say about this but I feel strongly it is the right choice and I applaud the President for doing the right thing. This was never about him, it is about the future of democracy.
Now we must unite and get this right. And go after the bastards. Got that, Kamala?

Ah, so now we're "bastards". That comment says more about you than it does us alleged illegitimates.
